Lancers Smoke Brahmas

(Diamond Bar)- Norwalk’s backfield rushed for 377-yards and five touchdowns in a 48-10 beat down of Diamond Bar at Diamond Bar high school on Friday night.
Early in the second quarter the Brahmas had the game close at 14-10, but the Lancers took control with 34 unanswered points.
*** Norwalk’s Rashaad Penny had 59-yards rushing and 49-yards receiving, three total (2 rush/1 rec) touchdowns and an interception.
***At halftime Diamond Bar had 117-total yards, Penny had 106-yards.
***Lancers Xavier Fuery led the team in rushing with 95-yards, a touchdown and a sack on defense.
***Score at halftime 34-10.
***Norwalk’s Matthew Ortega was the workhorse of the three headed backfield with 17-carries for 78-yards and two scores.
***Lancers defensive back Daniel Moreno held Brahmas wide receiver Cordell Broadus to zero catches.
***Diamond Bar quarterback Tyler Peterson was 4 of 6 for 42-yards before getting carted off the field late in the second quarter.
***Brahmas had 175-total yards of offense.
***Lancers quarterback Jacob Carr went 2 of 3 for 31-yards a touchdown and 50-yards rushing.
***Eight different players carried the ball for Norwalk with only Penny having a carry for a loss of yardage.
***Diamond Bar (1-1) stays home to welcome San Dimas (0-2) next week.
***Norwalk (2-0) is home to against Warren.
