(Rowland Heights) – Avery Duffus, who rushed for over 14oo yards a year ago, is out for the year with an ACL injury Raider HC Ryan Jacobson confirmed Monday.
Duffus left the game in the first quarter of the Zero Week win over Nogales and then had an MRI last week. The results confirmed that it was a complete tear of the ACL.
“We feel real bad for the kid. The new kid that we been running in his place, Jackie Zhang, has over 400 yards but that doesn’t make us feel any better about what happened to Avery,” Jacobson said.
Zhang is now the featured back for the Raiders, who have started the seaaon 2-0 with wins over Nogales and Wilson. The Raiders face Northview this week.
