Bell Gardens Quarterback Charles Ontiveros and El Rancho Quarterback Ryan Araujo combined for almost 600 passing yards, 200 rushing yards, and eight touchdowns as the visiting Lancers defeated the host Dons, 41-25, at Ernie Johnson Field on Friday evening.
Ontiveros tossed three touchdown passes, for 24, 34, and 55-yards. Additionally, he scored on a 46-yard run. Not to be outdone, Araujo scored on touchdown runs of 2, 9, and 12-yards, while throwing a scoring pass to senior wide receiver Rudy Martinez.
***Bell Gardens Running Back Christopher Orozco scored two touchdowns…on runs of
4 and 53 yards.
***Ontiveros completed touchdown passes to three different receivers…Eduardo Arreola, Tristan Escobar, and Juan Carranza.
***Ontiveros accounted for almost 400 yards of offense.
***Araujo, not to be outdone, accounted for approximately 400 yards of his own.
***The score at halftime was Bell Gardens-21 El Rancho-6.
***There were 15 accepted penalties in this contest.
***Defensively, there were two interceptions and one blocked punt.
***This game had as many punts (8) as touchdowns.
