Could it be, yes it could, something’s coming, something good…if teams can finish. The old football line rings true in Week 8; “This is a game of the heart! Focus and finish!” A good thing for the Downey Vikings to keep in mind against a hungry Paramount team on Friday night.

1.) Norwalk (8-0): Previous Week: 1: Four quarters, forty-eight minutes, good football…and you’re Suburban League champs.

2.) Downey (5-3): Prev. Wk: 2: Could they be surprised by Paramount this week? Nothing but love for the Vikes, but yes. 

3.) La Serna (6-2): Prev. Wk: 3: One goal…stay healthy.

4.) Diamond Ranch (7-1): Prev. Wk: 4: Survived the suspensions, ready to close the deal on the Hacienda.

5.) Los Altos (7-1): Prev. Wk: 6: Probably still hacked about the D-Ranch game, but when you see the forrest from the trees…Great season.

6.) Muir (7-1): Prev. Wk: 6: “I’m gonna pop CV, and put the Falcons in my pocket…The  Mustangs seem unbeatable, they look incredible, as they run the Pacific show…with Dejon Williams on the go.”

7.) Crescenta Valley (7-1): Prev. Wk: 7: Didn’t Kenny Loggins once sing; “This is it! Make no mistake where you are…the waiting is over.”

8.) Dominguez (6-2): Prev. Wk: 9: Could the Dons be gaining steam for another late season run?

9.) West Covina (5-4): Prev. Wk: 11: And just like that the Bulldogs are back in the mix.

10.) Bonita (5-3): Prev. Wk: 8:  Too good of a team to miss the playoffs.

11.) Burbank (6-2): Prev. Wk: 12: Hoover drives the boat Chief…but B-Bank is gunship.

12.) Paramount (5-3): Prev. Wk: 15: How different might the world look on Saturday morning if the Pirates upset Downey on Friday?

13.) Mayfair (5-4): Prev. Wk: 16: Has Mike Fitch earned some coach of the year nods? We say yes.

14.) Santa Fe (5-3): Prev. Wk: 10: We want to believe, everyone wants to believe, a healthy Christian Lara would give us reason to believe…but we don’t know. 

15.) La Mirada (3-5): Prev. Wk: 13: A victory over NorRock would cover a multitude of sins

16.) Diamond Bar (5-3): Prev. Wk: 14: So we take it this week’s game against Rowland has been forfeited…Correct? Or has something changed? Either way things have gone downhill here faster than you can say XFL.

17.) El Rancho (5-3): Prev. Wk: 18: The Dons get a wounded team at home, and the opportunity to grab second place in the Del Rio.

18.) Burroughs (5-3): Prev. Wk: 19: Hanging around, hanging around, hanging around…and then looking broadside B-Bank.

19.) Arcadia (5-3): Prev. Wk: 20:  If they could catch Burroughs thinking about Burbank next week, they might (might) be able to pull something.

20.) Artesia (5-3): Prev. Wk: N/R: Bellflower out, Artesia in…It’s week eight and Joe Veach has the Pioneers relevant. Great job.
