Northwest Division Game Night: Game Seven

(All game times 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated.)

Friday, October 16th

AMBASSADOR
Western Christian (0-1, 0-6) at Linfield Christian (1-0, 6-0)
This will not be pretty but it will be interesting to see how the Lions stay focused against an outmanned Fighting Lancers team. If this this three years ago, we’re talking playoff positioning, instead its 2015 and we’re talking about LC getting primed for the post-season. Viewer Discretion is advised.
Linfield Christian: 56-6 (76-6 if LC gets upset about something.)

Notre Dame/Riverside (1-0, 6-0) vs Ontario Christian (1-0, 5-1) at Riverside CC
In another year, another place, another time you go with the OC, but it’s not. It is now and now belongs to NDR. Quarterback Niles Harrell is the difference for Notre Dame.
Notre Dame/Riverside: 25-14

DE ANZA
Yucca Valley (1-2, 3-4) at Shadow Hills (1-1, 2-4)
Lose and it’s time to start dreaming about 2016. For SH it has not been the season fans were expecting given some of the talent they are returning. Still expect them to deliver the yuck to Yucca.
Shadow Hills: 28-7

NORTHERN
Mission Prep (1-0, 4-2) at Fillmore (0-6)
Think Matrix sequel and you’ll have an idea about how bad this game will be. If Brayden Corona plays in the second half for the Royals then something is wrong. Like Linfield Christian its about staying healthy getting ready for November.
Mission Prep: 63-7

OLYMPIC
Valley Christian (1-0, 5-2) vs Whittier Christian (0-1, 3-4) at Whittier College
The Heralds have sophomore Quinn Commans, who figures to be the center of much discussion in 2016 and 2017, but right now they are playing a Crusaders team that plays defense and hits. Jesse Smith and friends win it for Valley.
Valley Christian: 46-21

Saturday, October 17th
Maranatha (1-0, 4-3) vs Heritage Christian (3-3) at Kennedy in Granada Hills
I’ve got face full scars from picking the Warriors. This is an even match up, these teams are compatible, but every time I said HC was going to do something they swallowed the jalapeno. The Minutemen have a pair of solid back and quarterback in Quon Peterson who forces opponents to at least respect the pass.
Maranatha: 30-29

SOUTH CATHOLIC
St. Anthony (4-2) at Bishop Montgomery (5-1)
This is not a league game for the Knights but it is another game, like El Segundo, where they need to show something for fans to believe they’ll have life come bracket time in November. Unlike El Segundo they need more than a showing, they need to win.
Bishop Montgomery: 39-33

NON-LEAGUE
Grace Brethren (6-0) vs Pasadena Poly (4-2) at Moorpark College
Let’s not fight. GB is going to win this game. Friday night is about the damage that will be inflicted on the Panthers. If they stay moderately healthy and focused they’ll win the Prep League. No matter what, they’ll be home for Thanksgiving.
Grace Brethren: 56-10
