1. Chino has landed two top transfers – Christian Noble (6-3, 230, DE/TE) from Guyer High School in Texas and Eamon Hymes (6-2, 200, DE/FB) from Orange County powerhouse Servite.

2. Former La Mirada cornerback Micah Croom, who is committed to Dartmouth, was an onlooker at Rams Camp last Saturday to “see how they do things.”

3. Former Colorado HC Bill McCartney has been diagnosed with late onset dementia and Alzheimer’s. McCartney is the winningest coach in Colorado history.

4. The Baltimore Ravens waived running back Trent Richardson, the number three pick in the 2012 draft.

5. The “Honey Badger” Tyrann Mathieu (safety) signs a five-year, $62.5 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals.

6. The Atlanta Falcons sign DE Dwight Freeney to a one-year contract.

7. Colorado Rockies rookie shortstop Trevor Story, who has 27 home runs and 72 RBI, will have surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

9. On this date in 1990 Kevin Maas of the New York Yankees sets a record with his 10th home run in his first 72 at bats. Maas finished his career with 65 home runs and was out of baseball by 1995.

10. Happy Birthday to former Los Angeles Kings star Marcel Dionne who turns 65 today.
