As a long time Trojan basketball fan (Marv Safford, Gus Williams, Don Carfino) Tim Floyd’s impact has been tremendous, and it would be a loss for him to go, but then again this isn’t the old USC.
With the new facility and recent success SC basketball is on the map more than it ever has been before. There is money at USC, there is scenery in Socal, this position will get filled.
Filled by a talented A-List coach: No more pathetic flirtations with Rick Majerus. No rehab project like Henry Bibby. No blue collar nice guys assistants like Charlie Parker or Jim Saia. No overrated gems like George Raveling and certainly no “my way or the highway even though I don’t have a track record” types like Stan Morrison.
If Floyd put the program in jeopardy of probation, it will recover. And if anyone wants to leave SC for Tucson, brother let them go.
