(Upland) The Sierra Canyon Trailblazers traveled from Chatsworth Friday night to take on the Upland Highlanders in a non-league match-up and came away with a 37-0 win.
Upland got the ball to start the game and put together a 12-play drive down to the Sierra Canyon 18. The drive stalled there and Ramon Villela came on to attempt a 35-yard field goal. The line drive kick was blocked by the Trailblazers and the game remained scoreless.
On the ensuing drive, Sierra Canyon took over on their own 20 and marched 80-yards on 10 plays with Khalil Peart getting the call from 6-yards away. Josh Bryan added the extra point and with under a minute left in the opening period, the Trailblazers had a 7-0 advantage.
The defenses took over for the remainder of the first half. It wasn’t until a few ticks remaining that Bryan booted through a 32-yard field goal to extend Sierra Canyon’s lead to 10-0 as the teams headed to the locker rooms for the break.

The Trailblazers got the ball to start the second half and only needed to plays to get into the endzone. Daniel Duran hooked up with DJ Harvey on a catch and run that Harvey took 88-yards to paydirt. Bryan again added the extra point for the 17-0 advantage. Duran finished the night hitting on 12 of 30 passes for 315-yards and the one score. Harvey collected for of those passes for 118-yards and a touchdown.
Upland struggled the rest of the second half to mount any sustained drives. All four possessions in the second half ended in punts after three plays.
The remainder of the game belonged to the Trailblazer offense adding three more scores on touchdown runs from Anthony Spearman, D’Shawn Jones Jr. and Peart second score on the night.
Sierra Canyon will return home to take on Paraclete for their final contest of shortened season while Upland will finish off their season at home hosting Damien.
