  1. The Chargers beat the Rams 13-6 Saturday night in the first preseason game of the year at SoFi Stadium. 
  2.  Tyler Gilbert threw a no-hitter in his first major league start for the Arizona Diamondbacks in a 7-0 win over the San Diego Padres Saturday night. 
  3. The Diamondbacks have the worst record in baseball at 38-51. 
  4. The San Francisco Giants have the best record in baseball at 76-42. 
  5. The LA Galaxy are second in the Western Conference with a record of 11-6-2. LAFC is eighth at 6-8-5. 
  6. The Dodgers beat the New York Mets 14-4 Sunday night to sweep the three game series. 
  7. Penn State at Wisconsin, Saturday September 4, 9:00 a.m. PT ABC. 
  8. On this day in 1920 Ray Chapman of the Cleveland Indians was hit in the head by New York Yankees pitcher Carl Mays. He died the next day in what is the only MLB game related fatality in history. 
  9. Former Azusa Pacific/Kansas City Chiefs running back Christian Okoye turns 60 today. 
  10. The Clippers are trading Patrick Beverly, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu to the Memphis Grizzles for guard Eric Bledose.
