[Azusa] -The Dons were down early but scored 28-unanswered points behind the running of Eric Terrazes and Kimbom Ashe to pull out a 34-13 victory Friday night at Citrus College over Gladstone.
Sierra Vista stopped the Gladiators gusty drive and on its second play on offense Terrazes broke a few tackles on his way to a 21-yard touchdown run.
Gladstone got on the board when Sidney Ramon found a wide open Leo Leyva for 55-yards which set up a 4-yard Ramon touchdown run.
After a Dons holding penalty stalled them on offense Gladstone got on the board again when Ramon hit Leyva again this time he took it to paydirt, making it 13-6.
Ashe brought Sierra Vista back on the next drive when he hit the hole and took it 70-yards for the score.
The Dons defense got settled in and halted the Gladiators the rest of the game.
Terrazes found the end zone for a second time when he found a crease and scored from 36-yards out.
Sierra Vista took to the air its next possession when quarterback Andre Malloy hit a wide open Terrazes from 24-yards out making it 28-13 at the half.
Ashe got on the board again the second play of the second half scoring on a 33-yard pitch.
Both teams traded punts in the fourth.
“Tarzan” Terrazes ended the game with eight carries for 133 yards rushing and two scores to go with another score receiving. Ashe had six touches for 126-yards and two touchdowns.
Sophomores Mikey Gonzalez, Frankie Zelaya, Dominic “Patches” Renteria and Cyron “Spider” McAdams kept pressure on Gladstone’s quarterback. Angel Garcia anchored both the offensive and defensive line.
Next Thursday the Dons travel to face Ontario while Gladstone is on the road heading to The Webb Schools.
