  1. UCLA beat Washington 40-32 Friday night at the Rose Bowl to improve to 5-0 on the season. 
  2. The Chargers beat the Houston Texans 34-24 Sunday to even their record at 2-2.
  3. The San Diego Padres clinched their first playoff berth in a full season since 2006 when the Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Miami Marlins 4-3 in 12 innings Sunday.
  4. Colorado fired head football coach Karl Dorrell Sunday after an 0-5 start. The Buffaloes latest loss was a 43-20 defeat to Arizona Saturday. 
  5. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young injured his shoulder and left the game in a 49-26 win over Arkansas Saturday but Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban said the injury isn’t considered serious. 
  6. The Las Vegas Raiders won their first game of the season beating the Denver Broncos 32-23 Sunday. 
  7. AP College Football Top 6: 1. Alabama 2. Georgia 3. Ohio State 4. Michigan 5. Clemson 6. USC. UCLA is number 18. 
  8. Wisconsin fired head football coach Paul Chryst Sunday after a 2-3 start. 
  9. Bishop Amat and Damien both won Friday night without their head coaches who were suspended. Bishop Amat beat Sierra Canyon 31-28 in double overtime while Damien knocked off Upland 27-18. 
  10. Azusa is 6-0 on the season and has outscored its opponents 288-27.

    To all the many teams playing with ineligible players. Please admit it now rather than waiting until after you have your championship rings made and receive acolades from the media to admit you had an illegal player but did not know it at the time.

    They had the same schedule last year and went 4-5. I don’t follow them but my guess is they are getting better and going to start moving strengthening their schedule in the years to come. Especially with the kids from Gladstone coming in.

    The Aztecs haven’t played anyone and will probably not win CIF but they’re taking steps in the right direction. Kudos to coach and the staff.

    Azusa has not played a team with a pulse all season ; if they get to Division 13 , they will lose in first round.
