  1. The Denver Nuggets beat the Miami Heat 94-89 Monday night to win the NBA Championship in five games. It is the first ever championship for the franchise. Nikola Jokic was named NBA Finals MVP. 
  2. The Vegas Golden Knights beat the Florida Panthers 9-3 Tuesday night to win the Stanley Cup in five games.  
  3. Former Chaparral (Temecula) wide receiver Stacy Dobbins, one of the state leaders in catches and yards last season, has transferred to St. John Bosco.
  4. Toronto Raptors All-Star guard Fred VanVleet has declined his $22.8 million player option and will become an unrestricted free agent.  
  5. Nikola Jokic averaged 30.2 points, 14 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.2 steals in the NBA Finals.
  6. 10 people were wounded in a mass shooting early Tuesday morning in Denver where basketball fans had been celebrating the Nuggets NBA title. 
  7. Darko Rajokovic has been named the new head coach of the Toronto Raptors. 
  8. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs missed the team’s first mandatory minicamp practice Tuesday. Bills HC Sean McDermott said that his absence was “very concerning.” 
  9. The Nevada state senate passed a $380 million bill Tuesday to help fund a new stadium for the Oakland A’s in Las Vegas. 
  10. On this date in 1974 Nolan Ryan had 19 strikeouts in 13 innings for the California Angels in a 15-innning 2-1 win over the Boston Red Sox at Anaheim Stadium.

    #10 Dodgers are lucky to get 5 innings out of their starters. Oh how things have changed. How much would a Nolan Ryan be worth today?50-60 million a year.
