Nope not a politico, progress is needed if ERUSD wants to compete with neighboring districts. This crybaby coming in here about a leaking gym, go play in the new gym in the back of the school and shut up.

ER and Genius are exactly what I’am talking about. Politicos that want their cut of the pie first. They probably did nothing to help pass the bond for but since it passed “give me my cut of the pie first. Screw the blue field”! . Everyone wants something. That is why said in my first post that I doubt it will be built because of people like them. Meanwhile in the last few years stadiums have been built all over nearby.

How many readers would be OK with the roof in their own homes leaking like the ER gym roof, so long as the new blue field gets installed?

Not sure what ER soccer has to do with the topic, they were not national champions, they were regional champs in 2013 and haven’t done anything in a decade, regardless the new stadium is a multi use stadium for multiple sports.

Football, soccer, baseball, track have many more kids than basketball and a lot more support, at this point all you can do is wait for the next phase to get that issue addressed, the problem we always face is the moment 1 thing starts getting progress we have cry babies come out of the wood work asking what about me, which is exactly what you’re doing here.

In early 2022 ERUSD superintendent Francis Esparza was fired after a very short stint. Supers do not last long at El Rancho. Does not speak well of the board who hires these folks that are among the highest paid in Pico Rivera if not the highest. The ones held in highest regard at El Rancho are their athletic coaches. In 2018 El Rancho boys soccer were National Champions but received little recognition. One of the members of that team plays for the USA National soccer team thet represents us in the Olympics and World Cup. I would like to believe the drama was over 1n 2019 and their is currently no recalls going on but give it a few, there are investigations. Sorry for the posts but I’am passionate about ER sports and folks that put up road blocks rather than make the road smoother.

The roof of the main gym at this school has leaked water big-time for decades without remedy, and the answer is to pay millions for a blue football field. Sounds about right.

There was a recall of board members in 2020 the others term ended that year, that situation is over with, ER should’ve been playing in that new stadium since the 2021 pandemic football season, there is no recall going on right now

@ER: I guess you stopped reading after 2019. Too ridiculous to even comment on.

Currently no political turmoil or ongoing political issues, in 2018-2019 too much political drama, not today though.

My info came from the Whittie News and Cerritos News that covered the political infighting over the bond measure. It was embarrassing and scandalous for council people, school board people, ER adninistrators and their cohorts fighting for their cut. As I lived in Pico Rivera when the bond measure was being passed it was clear the only reason it was passed was that the residents wanted a nice stadium for their revived football and soccer teams. The field was and still is a lumpy gopher holed mess and a new field was the primary selling point. The disgusting thing was that after the bond measure was overwhelmingly passed every politico, administrator and union and special interest group wanted to stick their grubby hands into the pie. They hired consultants and phony engineering companies for studies that ran into millions of wasted bond money for the last six or seven years. I give the stadium no better than 50-50 of it ever being built considering the PR and ERUSD me first politicians.

    @?,

I’m not going as far as saying people lined their pockets but there was definitely a weird political climate at El Rancho and the back and forth on the stadium was a political bargaining chip. I know for a fact Medrano was on the verge of looking elsewhere but stayed loyal to his alma mater. That’s Not too common these days.

He deserves it, certain aspects of that stadium rendering were done at his request. About time ERUSD, these kids deserve it!

Reporting has it that at long last the new El Rancho football stadium is starting to be built. The bond to build was passed around around the time coach Medrano revived the program. Politics being what it is millions have been spent by PR politicians to get their cut. Studies and stop and starts. Undoubtedly ERUSD politicos will take credit for the build with photo ops and big grins but it has been Medrano’s fight from the beginning. I hope this time they keep turning the dirt.
