  1. With a 10-5 win Saturday night the Dodgers have now beat the Angels 10 straight games. 
  2. The New York Yankees fired hitting coach Dillon Lawson Sunday after a 7-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs. 
  3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar gave San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama some tips after his NBA Summer League debut Friday night. 
  4. Oklahoma City’s Chet Holmgren had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the Thunder’s 91-80 win over the Dallas Mavericks Saturday in their Summer League opener. 
  5. LSU pitcher Paul Skenes was the number one overall pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday in the MLB draft. 
  6. Northwestern will reconsider penalties for head coach Pat Fitzgerald after new details emerged Saturday about allegations of hazing in the football program. Fitzgerald began serving a two-week unpaid suspension Friday. 
  7. West Virginia men’s head basketball coach Bob Huggins claims he never formally resigned last month after a DUI arrest and will sue the university if he is not reinstated. 
  8. “Why not be a Don? Don Lugo was very impressive again today. Big season ahead for them.”- Baldwin Park HC Robert Maxie on Twitter.  
  9. Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has agreed to a new five-year, $80 million contract with the team. 
  10. Former Glendora star shortstop Jacob Gonzalez, who went on to play at Mississippi, was taken by the Chicago White Sox with the 15th pick in the first round of the MLB draft.

    Inglewood had 2 teams in tournament . B team was talented but young

    BP tournament was unorganized
    Started late in the morning and playoffs were a mess.
    The board for the playoffs looked like a middle schooler made it. For the money that they received you would think it would have be prepared better

    Santa Fe beat Inglewood in pool play, they are going 10-0 and will beat la Serna.

    Interesting comment by maxie given that knight was a former coach and AD at BP last year resigned and the ibis went after him when he decided to step down as head coach

    I’m going to have to backtrack on some of my comments I made about Lugo. It’s looking like they’re the real deal. Yes it’s only 7 on 7, but only a really athletic football team would be able to hang with Inglewood in a 7 on 7 and be in at least the semis in every tournament they’re showing up to. In looking at their schedule, MAYBE they lose to San Dimas, but even then that’s a toss up. So I’m saying 9-1, possibly 10-0. They look that good.
