  1. The NL beat the AL 3-2 Tuesday night in the MLB All-Star Game in Seattle. 
  2. Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won the Home Run Derby Monday night. 
  3. Luis Robert of the Chicago White Sox injured his right calf in the Home Run Derby and had to pull out of the All-Star game. He is listed as day-to-day. 
  4. The Dodgers selected South Hills pitcher Sterling Patrick in the 18th round of the MLB draft. 
  5. Northwestern fired head football coach Pat Fitzgerald amid allegations of widespread hazing in the program. 
  6. The Dodgers optioned infielder Miguel Vargas who’s hitting .195 on the season and .079 in his last 23 games. 
  7. The Dodgers also drafted Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei in the 20th round.  
  8. The Colorado Rockies drafted UCLA’s Kyle Karros, son of former Dodger first baseman Eric Karros, in the fifth round. 
  9. The Portland Trail Blazers are willing to wait months if necessary to trade All-Star guard Damian Lillard.
  10. The Jacksonville Jaguars signed tight end Josh Pederson, son of head coach Doug Pederson. Pederson played with the Houston Gamblers of the USFL last season.
