  1. The Buffalo Bills beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-18 on Thursday Night Football. 
  2. The Lakers beat the Phoenix Suns 100-95 Thursday night for their first win of the 2023-’24 season. 
  3. Houston Astros Dusty Baker announced Wednesday that he is retiring after 26 seasons as an MLB manager. 
  4. Former Cleveland Cavaliers star forward Bobby “Bingo” Smith passed away at the age of 77.
  5. Wilson won the Mt. Baldy League title with a record of 3-0 and 9-1 overall with a 23-0 win over Baldwin Park Thursday night. 
  6. Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson doesn’t know when he’ll be able to play again as he continues to rehabilitate his injured shoulder. 
  7. The Azusa Girls Flag Football team, coached by former Gladstone head football coach Albert Sanchez, finished the season 4-3 after winning all three of their games this week. 
  8. “Friday night I died after having a massive coronary on the sideline at Ganesha. Fortunately my athletic trainer and the EMT from La Puente beat the “heck” out of me and saved my life. Saturday I had triple bypass surgery and now I am in rehab hopefully going home today.” Ganesha head football coach Don Cayer on Facebook on having a heart attack last Friday night while on the sideline. 
  9. Damian Lillard scored 39 points in his debut with the Milwaukee Bucks in a 118-117 win over the Philadelphia 76ers Thursday night. 
  10. The Clippers beat the Portland Trail Blazers 123-111 Wednesday night to open the 2023-’24 season.

    #8 Puts the other 9 items on the list into perspective. What really matters is the people. I hope for a complete and speedy recovery for coach and if he can and still wants it he’ll be back on the sideline in some capacity.
