  1. The Atlanta Falcons hired Rams Defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as their new head coach. 
  2. The Carolina Panthers hired Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales as their new head coach. 
  3. The Heritage Bowl featuring high school players from Team San Diego vs. Team Los Angeles will take place at Gabrielino High School February 3 at 5:00 p.m. More details to come. 
  4. Pasadena will retire the jersey of basketball legend and former Bulldog Michael Cooper on January 30 between the Boys and Girls varsity games against Arcadia. 
  5. Timmy Anderson scored 52 points to lead Blair to a 91-72 win over Temple City Wednesday night. 
  6. Doc Rivers has agreed to become the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks replacing the fired Adrian Griffin. 
  7. New England Patriots receiver Kayshon Boutte was arrested Thursday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on allegations of illegal sports betting while at LSU. 
  8. The Arizona Diamondbacks signed outfielder Joc Pederson to a one-year, $9.5 million deal. 
  9. According to Fred Robledo of SGVN Sports The Covina Valley Unified School District is conducting an investigation over issues that arose during the SGV Bowl High School Football All-Star game at Covina District Field on January 13. 
  10. LeBron James became the first player in NBA history to be named to 20 All-Star teams Thursday night when he was selected to the Western Conference team for this season.
