- El Rancho will play Don Lugo at Pioneer High School on Saturday night August 24 at 7:00 p.m.
- Temple City will play Whittier at Pioneer High School on Thursday night August 23 at 7:00 p.m.
- Damien will face La Serna Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at California High School.
- The Las Vegas Raiders announced Gardner Minshew will open the season as the starting quarterback.
- Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has challenged 100-meter Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles to a race in the 50-yard dash.
- Redshirt sophomore Maddux Madsen has been named the starting quarterback at Boise State. Madsen beat out Malachi Nelson who transferred in from USC.
- Jose Canseco was inducted into the Oakland A’s Hall of Fame Saturday.
- Dodgers’ first baseman Freddie Freeman was held out of Sunday’s 2-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals due to a jammed middle finger on his right hand. He may be placed on the IR.
- The Dodgers have placed pitcher Tyler Glasnow on the injured list with right elbow tendinitis.
- The San Dimas girls opened the flag football season with a 24-12 win over West Covina Friday.
Nice to see Hill making up his own Olympic event. If the thing goes down and Mr. football loses, look for him to modify the challenge down to a five foot dash.
