@cif
I worry if the bills are paid and if the family is healthy.
Oiler good call BG gave Schurr all they can handle! What a joke BG had 67 yards rushing.
35-2! S C H U R R
Okay so we’re lame. So now I’m curious Mr. Truth, what exactly is it that you care about? I’m guessing not much at all.
It’s hs football. It’s not that deep. Won’t matter who wins 5 years from now. Yall lame fighting over HS football. .
Im with you. It’s called trolling. Really one lonely LS dude in his moms bedroom trying to get attention. Please write about your schools program. We need it.
ER people aren’t even writing anything. This LS dude wants a Super Bowl trophy for their amazing accomplishment.
With so many big games , playoff bids on the line , questions regarding Divisional placement , etc , I’m amazed that the only comments fans are motivated to write involve LS -ER history and games over the past 30 years . Oh and some Schurr-Montebello trash talking …:::
I appreciate the passion from the fan bases , but not very interesting to those not involved . Tomorrow’s tradition begins today !
@Not Amish or Amazed
It’s weird that you are disgusted
by greatness.
I think back in the day schools like Bell Gardens & El Rancho having over 3,000 students and LS having barely over 1,000 was a much bigger advantage because there was no choice back then. Now, you can hire a good coach, get better, become the next La Serna, instead of crying about it.
not amazed/? Describe what la serna has been doing to the local talent poor for the last 20 years please; can you? 20 years ago are you stating la serna was in charge of ‘your so called talent pool/’? Let us see! 2025 take away 20 seasons and we have 2005 right? La serna was only an average football team during the years from 2005 through about 2009 and 2010. Why do you comment with false information when all you have to do is look it up? They didn’t even make the playoffs much during those 6-7 seasons you described them as being in charge of the local talent pool. Ever heard of Cal hi’s Grigsby or his half brother TJ ( i hope i am close to his proper name) when Dusan Ancich and another head coach won the DRL? yeah sure ls was controlling the local talent pool you ‘self appointed genius’ stated , but in reality la serna was getting their butts whipped by cal hi and santa fe (who actually was taking very talented players from the norwalk location before the district stopped that advantage on the football field because the “california state curriculum standards” became the most important thing for all high schools in the distrit)! No more of the best players in the league transferring to santa fe if those players had the potential to score low on state exams! i will help you /direct you ! take away 2005 to 2010 seasons and i agree with you somewhat because la mirada was getting many of the best from out of district because they were very good; and could kick la serna’s butt during the years i mention. you can thank me for the help but you do not have to
He wants all the credit in the world for the amazing feat they were able to accomplish, beat all the league teams by using all the players that belonged to those schools, they deserve a Super Bowl trophy, Olympic gold medal, World Cup trophy and boxing championship belt for the extraordinary feat, bravo La Serna, not only champions on the field but in all our hearts.
I am a realist and not prone to subscribing to the over-the-top braggadocio of a few La Serna High diehards. La Serna High fans will get a chance to see how our coaches and teams do in a competitive league. I believe we will hold our own.
My issue with you, dear sir, is that you attribute some kind of mystical quality to La Serna’s program, as if the open enrollment thing isn’t the whole explanation. You mentioned Santa Fe’s recruiting under old man Mahlstede; well, the talent LS has been siphoning away from other Whittier schools makes the Lancer program an even greater offender than old man Jack ever was. It’s “amazing” you are trying to pass this nonsense off as somehow getting even for the past, and “amazing” you think everyone’s too stupid to see through your rhetoric.
Schurr players and coaches had no class. Very duty play from them. Game would have been closer if Montebello’s offense kept running the ball and giving their defense time to rest. Hard to stop them when they are put the defense on bad situations giving schurr great field position. Kudos to Schurr for the win but they look totally different from years past. Way too many transfers now. Montebello plays with home grown kids and are doing their best with what they have.
@Not Amazed
Were you disgusted when El Rancho and Bell Gardens, who had enrollments 3x the size of La Serna, back in the 80’s & 90’s, “bullied” LS and others. Or when Santa Fe bused in athletes from out of the area to win 30 plus straight DLR in the 2000’s. I doubt you were.
Even with those advantages, none of those schools won a CIF Title from 1985-2009, let alone appear in 7 CIF finals, win 2, and win a State Championship in 2023.
So if you are going to be disgusted, maybe just be disgusted that those teams that had similar advantages in the area, weren’t able to rise to the heights that La Serna football has risen.
Santa Fe was the last DRL team to beat LS during the first league game of 2017. LS changed QBs after that game and won 4 straight and almost upset top seed St Francis in the Div.3 playoffs, losing 31-27.
LS finished 6-5 that year, the only year they haven’t won at least 8 games since 2010.
I’m proud to say I’m disgusted by what La Serna’s been doing to the local talent pool for over 20 years. If this situation “amazes” you, I’m happy to inform you that there’s medication for that.
ls wins? Who beat la serna for the one loss out of fifty in league/ ? And Is it possible that loss just before the playoffs could of had an effect on ls that caused them to play very well in the cif playoffs\
Not very impressive, just bully behavior.
La Serna went out in style with a record 35th consecutive DRL victory, even leading 35-0 at one point vs Whittier.
La Serna wrapped up their 8th consecutive DRL title and 13th league title in 16 yrs.
Over their final 50 DRL games, La Serna went (49-1) beating 47 out of 50 opponents by at least 13 pts.
Looks like that Freshmen WR Sumage is going to be a problem after he grabbed 2 or 3? TD’s passes vs Whittier.
What a program. Amazing accomplishments.
BG won’t come within 3 TD’s of Schurr.
@Sparta,
Did you not see the way MTB ran the ball against them ? They ran the ball at will. I get it, you won big. Even though MTB played horrible offensively. Lost two possessions inside the 15 due to fumbles and penalties. SHS made all big plays. Kudos.. But come Friday against BG, they have no chance to stop that run. BG will win by 14. Anyways, good luck. You will need it.
@CIF I don’t think SF beats ER but if they do u said 2-2 for everyone at the beginning of the year, just thought SF was better.
@ Oilers….. 35 penalties called against schurr and still won 42-7 y’all really exposed them. Enjoy your moral victory
Why does Bishop Amat and Damien high schools get all the publicity in the local newspapers? And Chino Hills, they get Zippo.
@Oilers … 42-7 with the refs calling 35 flags on schurr. Montebello really exposed them. Enjoy your moral victory.
@anonomous ,
Say whatever you want about Montebello high school but they exposed Schurr as very mediocre. BG is gonna win Big next week against SCHURR no doubt about it.
Also the players DELETED
It all starts with that goon DELETED I liked him better in the movie Goonies.
Bottom line, they will get bounced in the first round as usual…
@CIF DRW … The league has some type of tie- breaking procedure which would determine the second place finisher and AQ . It might be a coin flip….The others would have to be .500 to squeak in as at large .
But there is no way SF beats ER this year .
Santa Fe beats ER next week and we have a 3 way tie for 2nd place. Who gets left off the playoff party?
@Top12 ….. How embarrassing for Arroyo
Fumbling away game to team that got running clocked by Gab
They second and third place spots are prime D14 seeds for league that’s parity of porridge behind EM , SEM and Gab most likely
Montebello sucks!!
I guess Chino Hills has to shoot to the top of this week’s area poll, right? And, despite a dismal showing against Rosemead, let’s plug Arroyo in at #12, to brighten the spirits of Jim the boys.
ROSEMEAD!!!!!!!
