    Recent seasons have shown us that the Division 14 champ has little trouble putting away the city section team in the state playoffs but then cannot hold their own weight vs Northern California in the state championship.

    The La Habra game being decided by 3 points and the RHP contest being won by 5 are about what we should expect in state playoff events. But SEM taking down Santee by 49? That’s reminiscent of those first-round southern section blowouts that the new system was meant to eliminate. Talk about a head-scratcher…I can’t believe SEM is that good or that Santee could be that bad. Are the state guys using computers to make these brackets, or are they consulting tarot cards?
