  3. The Philadelphia Eagles hired former Green Bay Packers quarterback coach Sean Mannion as their offensive coordinator.
  4. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had surgery to repair a broken bone in his right foot Monday but is expected to make a full and quick recovery.
  5. Dallas’ Cooper Flagg scored 49 points, the most in NBA history by a teenager, but the Mavericks fell to the Charlotte Hornets 123-121 Thursday night.
  6. The New York Mets signed reliever Craig Kimbrel and catcher Austin Barnes to minor league deals Thursday.
