- The Las Vegas Raiders hired Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko as their offensive coordinator.
- Kansas State fired men’s basketball coach Jerome Tang for cause Sunday. Kansas State is currently 1-11 in the Big 12 and 10-15 overall. Tang was in his fourth season as the coach of the Wildcats.
- Quarterback Derek Carr, who retired last May with the New Orleans Saints, says he would come back if he had a chance to win a Super Bowl.
- Nick Castellanos, who was released by the Philadelphia Phillies, has signed with the San Diego Padres.
- Point guard Chris Paul officially announced his retirement from the NBA after 21 years effective immediately.
- Portland’s Damian Lillard won the 3-point shooting contest. Miami’s Keshad Johnson won the dunk contest.
- AP Men’s College Basketball Top 5: 1. Arizona 2. Michigan 3. Houston 4. Duke 5. Iowa State.
- La Canada High School graduate Collin Morikawa won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Sunday.

Chris Paul could have still been with the Clippers had he not come in with the attitude that he was the new coach. But still, 21 years in any professional sport is way too long; it’s embarrassing for guys who are Hall of Fame caliber to overstay their welcome. It’s a young man’s thing…take your millions and go do something better suited to middle age!

I guess telling your team in a post game presser that they didn’t deserve to wear the name of the university on their jerseys was not the best choice for the coach.
