Thanks for that important clarification, Tim! I heard a great interview with Clark where he acknowledged these misdeeds and some other motivations ( playing with Scottie who was favorite)for the crowd behavior which he fought through to achieve victory. None of his attributions had anything to do with politics or race . I’m not a golf fan , but it was a good sports story.
I find the continued references to politics -which MVS readers decry- with spurious and trite confabulations to be the truly distasteful element here .

What is with the white American golf fan booing the white American golf champion? Did he diss Trump or what? And booing him in front of his family? Wow! Golf is weird and ugly today.
From T. Peterson: It had nothing to do with politics. Last year Wyndham Clark damaged multiple lockers in the Oakmont Country Club locker room in frustration after missing the cut at the U.S. Open. It was the second incident for Clark in 2025. He also damaged a T-Mobile sign a month earlier at the PGA Championship. The fans on Sunday were giving him grief for that. He has since apologized for the incident and will make restitution but he’ll still hear it for awhile. It looked like he started winning fans over though on the last couple of holes.
