The Peterson Principle: 3/17/14
No, Mike MacFarland didn’t leave Temple City because he thought he was going to get fired and better get out while he can. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Did the powers that be at Monrovia do a good job of keeping that one under wraps or what? Trying to find out who the coaching candidates were was like trying to break the code to national security. I didn’t know if they were hiring a head football coach or selecting the next Defense Secretary […]

What? Burbank’s Hector Valencia resigned? But he’s still staying on as an assistant? Who’s getting promoted? Who’s taking the Diamond Bar job? What’s going on at Monrovia? I’m hearing plenty of names but still no announcement. Whos’ the frontrunner at Baldwin Park?

Even though various names have been surfacing in the Monrovia coaching over the last few weeks search applications were still being accepted through last Friday. If Michael Crabtree is “sorry” as Sherman yelled after the game or “mediocre” as he said later in a press conference doesn’t that just diminish Sherman’s accomplishments? Okay great Richard, you just beat […]

Village Christian could have done a lot worse than to bring in Mark Bates as coach. He was a key assistant under Bill Redell at Oaks Christian and knows what is needed to win a championship. Bates has seen first hand and been a part of what is necessary to win at the high school […]

It’s January and that means it’s time for the annual coaching changes in high school football. Okay so where are we at now? There were two more resignations just last week. Both seemingly came out of the blue. Jason Martin stepped down at Duarte and Ryan Maddox resigned after six successful seasons at Monrovia.
