Since anyone, not just elected representatives, can be speaker of the house, I nominate Jim Singiser to fill the shoes of Kevin McCarthy. Jim has always pushed the MAGA (Make Arroyo Great Again) agenda, so he would resonate with at least half the population (of El Monte).

One has to wonder why MVS opts to highlight a player with a helmet off well posed diva photo for a performance against a team they were favored to beat by a hundred points? I mean why did the Mid even cover this farce? I haven’t heard those rumors if he’s back or not. I know he is still at the school so maybe in a consultant type role who knows. I do have to admit the MVL hasn’t been this bad really ever. That third place automatic qualifier is gonna be pretty bad this year. This is a two team league this year South is having a good year Arroyo is in the race really based on history because they aren’t having a god season but the league is so down this year that Arroyo will be there in the end. South will have a senior heavy team next year so hopefully they step up the preseason schedule. Rosemead playing an ineligible player is pretty bad especially to do it against us. (Vikings) lol
Singiser is back at Arroyo, is this true? How does that work? They just told Argo to step aside, in the middle of the season? What a weird situation. I still think South is the team to beat, but if rumors are true about Singiser being back that might change the outcome. The man has many years of experience, you cant account for that.
So that Rosemead forfeit threw a wrench on my MVL predictions, on paper I was still correct I had Mtn. View beating Gabby but losing to Rosemead. Now with Rosemead’s forfeit Mtn. View is (2-0) in league. Wow, how the tables turn, I hear that Rosemead was soo scared to lose to Mtn. View that they played an ineligible transfer in the game. Rosemead coaches should be reprimanded for taking the air out of their team. I bet the transfer didn’t play against South El Monte and that’s the reason they got completely shut out. Now, this makes the MVL a bit interesting. Arroyo and South El Monte should roll Mtn.View. The Game that’s going to be interesting is the cross town rivalry game El Monte vs Mtn. View. I think El Monte gets the win, but anything can happen. Question is whos going to take that 3rd Place finish?

That game was as inspiring as it gets. Coach Galan beats Montebello in his first season as a head coach. They have freshmen and sophomores starting everywhere after graduating a heavy senior class. They get two redzone stops and block a PAT to win the game. Go sit on the away side next week NWO.

Grim, you called it man. Good job! I was at the game and was just blown away how easy SP and Jason Hong could ram it down Monrovia’s throat. Frankly SP could have posted another score as they had the ball on the Cats 5 yard line with a few minutes left in the game, but Coach Chi went into victory formation.
It was wonderful to see the SP kids revel in their victory as they all seemed to know that they ended a 20 year drought. Good job Tigers!
It will be interesting to see how Monrovia responds to their first loss in RHL play in 3.5 years.

Has it occurred to anyone here that by attending your school’s game with La Serna—or even agreeing to play these guys—you are giving your stamp of approval to this talent-robbing operation? How about having Cal, ER, Whittier and SF all forfeit their meeting with these jokers, leaving them to understand that the matchup is no longer a contest, but a coronation arranged by the Whittier district. Let the La Serna allstars use their idle Fridays burning incense while chanting about their commitment, courage and whatever.
I just follow I don’t jump on a team. I might pick a team one week and not the next. I just watch and read.

South Pasadena 56 Monrovia 28??!!
When I suggested South Pasadena’s defense was being underrated, and SP could upset Monrovia.. The conventional wisdom of the site told me I was wrong and it would be Monrovia all the way as SP had not beaten M for 20 years. I am sure my previous post was the subject of much dismissive laughter…
Well SP won..I was not there to see it in person, but on the Cats home field.. There must have been mass gnashing of teeth and dismay in MowTown as they got shaved clean. And the margin was large enough to make accusations of the refs taking the game away, fall flat.
So the wild and wacky in the Rio Hondo League is coming true, game by game inch by inch.
SM beat LC, 21-17.. just as the Mid Valley News predicted to the exact score.. Scary…
So the next step is SM loses to Monrovia and SP beats LC setting up the three way tie and coin flips as they all beat Poly and TC.
But the conventional wisdom on this site will tell me I am wrong and it is impossible … etc.
Or worse yet for MowTown. they lose to SM away, and become a third place team with a low or no seed in their division.. or shudder… get beat by LC and miss the playoffs for about the first time in forever.. Could they be on the way to emulating once great Temple City and unthinkable decline?
