Image that best represents El Rancho...getting ready to up-end the Del Rio League

Good Evening!

I go with The Ranch at home against Santa Fe this Friday night.

First Add Montebello: The Oilers have not had a winning record since 2002, when they went 7-5.

Cancellation of the first two weeks might be a good deal…the best medicine for the ailing NBA, besides a labor agreement, would be a 60 game season.

I know that’s pie in the sky, but a 60 or even 50 game schedule would make everything so much more meaningful. I’m willing to concede, with a regular slate of double headers, that baseball needs 154 to 162 games to settle which team is best…Basketball doesn’t.

Oh, by the way, fantasy football stinks on ice…and Bonita Alum is no longer welcome around anybody on the Mid Valley Sports staff…Amigo, you have worn out your welcome…

I’ve worked through a bad headache…I’ve worked with a 103 degree temperature…I’ve worked when my daughter was in the ICU…I worked the day after my mother’s funeral…but strep throat? Never. Nothing turns me into a bigger wimp than strep throat…So I’m willing to cut Peyton Hillis a little slack.

When a guy makes it to the NFL level, it’s hard to question his toughness.

Former Los Angeles Dodger outfielder Mike “General Soreness” Marshall on the other hand…WUSS!!!

On this date in 1974 Rosemead, behind the strong running of Roberto Rey, beat El Monte 23-0 at Bergstrom Stadium….

…And in 1963 Alhambra beat Arcadia 32-0 at home led by backs Bill Calagna, Jim Betts, Alan Reese, and Ron Cooper.

Last Add Montebello: Have you seen the numbers on Montebello nose guard Daniel Servin? He has been in on 62 tackles and has three sacks according to MaxPreps,

With Glendale’s ability to put points on the board, does Thursday night’s match with Burroughs carry with it the possibility of an upset?

The Nitros Matt DeFrance is probably the best tight end no one knows about in the Southeast.

South Pasadena’s Justin Cornford is that tight end in the Mid-Valley.

Did you think Duarte-Azusa would mean something in 2011? Good for the Falcons, but keep your faith in the Aztecs.

Last Add on This Date: On this night in 1975, Saturday Night Live made it debut on NBC…I think I actually saw it after coming home from a drive-in movie with my brothers and their friends on the street. I think we saw Jaws.

You never miss something, until you are prevented from doing it. We got a great staff at The Mid but so many of our guys & gal…have been put through, and still are going through, exceptional health and family difficulties this fall…Tonight was the first time in over two and half years we were forced to abruptly cancel a Tuesday show…We do so apologize.

The Dude abides…
