(South Pasadena)- Kwame Do and his 30 carries for 224 yards and three scores led the Titans to victory in the cross-town rivalry between San Marino and South Pasadena on Friday night in Rio Hondo League action.

SM crashed the Tigers homecoming, jumped out in front in the first half, and didn’t look back.

In the first quarter with only 1:59 off the clock Do ran the ball in from five yards out to get it rolling.

Matt Wofford would get the next San Marino score by taking it in from a yard out. The score was set up again by Do runs with his counter part Nick Gott taking the ball and pounding up the middle for the hard yards.

South Pas struggled to move the ball in the first quarter, but with just over 8:00 left in the second quarter the Tigers were threatening. Getting as close as the two yard line before the Titans defense held by dropping running back Telanto Harvey for an 11-yard loss on fourth and goal.

With the ball on the 13 Do burst off to the right with a 77-yard run on the first play of the drive, setting up a quick redzone opportunity for the Titans and shifting the momentum back their way. Four plays later Do won the battle at the goal line for the four yard score making the score at the break, 21-0, all Titans.

The Tigers finally came out of their cage early in the third thanks to a 62-yard touchdown bomb from Joey Harmon to Hector Fernandez to cut the San Marino lead to only 14 points.

The Titans failed to move the ball on their first drive of the half and were forced to punt.

South Pas began to move the ball again bringing it to the SM 30 yard line with ease thanks to a long pass by Harmon which was followed by a Harvey 18-yard run, and a pass interference on the Titans. A false start, and an offensive pass interference would set up a 4th and 30 from the SP 48 forcing the punt.

Do was the go to man once again carrying San Marino downfield with the help of Gott and Wofford runs as well. Do also capped off 84-yard 7:24 drive with a nine-yard dash into paydirt for the final score of the night.

Harmon was leading the Tigers down the field following the San Marino score but right after they crossed over the 50 his pass was picked off by none other than Do to ice any comeback.

South Pasadena falls to (6-3, 3-1) and will take to the road to face Monrovia next week in its final game of the season.

San Marino improves its playoff chances and moves to (6-3, 3-1) and will close its season out in a crucial match up with a tough trip to La Canada.
