Game Night Southeast Division: Week Ten

Santa Fe will be ready for the playoffs.

Thursday, November 10th

All games at 7pm

DEL RIO
Santa Fe (4-0, 5-4) at Pioneer (1-3, 1-8)

Last Year: Santa Fe 35-7

There is a sliver a chance that Pioneer can sneak its way into the playoffs if they beat Santa Fe and strange occurrences happen elsewhere in the Del Rio. With that said, the Titans are playing out the season against a red-hot Chiefs team that have locked the Del Rio Crown.

It will be a long night for Pioneer as Santa Fe will tune up for the playoffs by probably needing just two quarters to beat the Titans.

SANTA FE 49-0

Whittier (1-3, 4-5) vs. El Rancho (1-3, 5-4) (California)

Last Year: El Rancho 21-18

The Cardinals can control its playoff destiny by just defeating El Rancho. If Whittier does win, it will mark an incredible comeback from a winless 2010 season. The Dons needed to come out and defeat Whittier to have any shot at a playoff spot, but now find its self needing to defeat Whittier and hope for help from CIF.

Joe Sanchez is an up and coming quarterback for El Rancho. Whittier can throw the ball just ask California.

WHITTIER 28-14

HACIENDA

Diamond Bar (2-3, 4-5) at Los Altos (2-3, 6-3)

Last Year: Diamond Bar 34-6

Win and you’re in. That is the mantra that Ryan Maine and Dale Zoila are saying all week.

The Conquerors have an outside shot at getting an at-large playoff berth, but Scott Tibbs and Shane Virnala probably would rather know they are in then hoping the CIF sees they deserve the final spot.

The Brahmas were looking like a legit threat prior to the season for a Hacienda League title and now it needs a win. Diamond Bar does have a ton of weapons to get the job done.

LOS ALTOS 28-21

Diamond Ranch (4-1, 5-4) at West Covina (5-0, 8-1)

Last Year: West Covina 41-10

Roddy Layton will have the Panthers primed for the upset, but need to play a perfect game to defeat the Bulldogs.

West Covina is tough to beat at home and will use this game to sharpen up its playoff teeth. A win will give them the top seed for the Southeast Division.

WEST COVINA 35-21

Bonita (3-2, 5-4) at Rowland (0-5, 2-7) – BONITA 56-7

PACIFIC

Muir (3-3, 5-4) vs. Pasadena (4-2, 5-4) (Rose Bowl)

Last Year: Muir 66-6

Pasadena is in trouble, a loss and they must hope for the coin to flip its way. The Mustangs are just happy to be in a position to fight for a playoff spot after a bad start in Pacific League play.

Brandon Cox will do whatever it takes to get the job done under the lights of the Rose Bowl. Up and comer Darrick Holmes and Kevon Seymour will need to play their best games to upset the Bulldogs.

PASADENA 28-14

Hoover (0-6, 0-9) at Glendale (0-6, 1-8) – GLENDALE 49-7

SUBURBAN
Mayfair (4-1, 6-3) at Artesia (1-4, 1-8) – MAYFAIR 56-0
Cerritos (0-5, 0-9) at Bellflower (4-1, 6-3) – BELLFLOWER 42-0

Friday, November 11th

All games at 7pm

DEL RIO
La Serna (3-1, 7-2) at California (2-2, 6-3)

Last Year: La Serna 49-7

It will be scoreboard watching time for the Condors they are hoping for an El Rancho win to sneak into the third place spot.

California can also get in by just upsetting the Lancers. The run for the Condors will get an added boost with Gabriel Lozano returning to full strength.

Frankie Palmer will only get better and Craig Jones anchors a very good defense for La Serna.

LA SERNA 35-21

PACIFIC
Burroughs (5-1, 5-4) vs. Burbank (3-3, 4-5) (Arcadia)

Last Year: Burroughs 38-35

The Bulldogs would love nothing more than to defeat the Indians and help Arcadia win the Pacific League title.

Zander Anding tuned up for the game with a six carry-220 yard game against Hoover. If Anding runs wild Burbank will be in for a long night.

Can Herman Castro do it again? Last week, Castro was instrumental in help defeating Muir and getting a possible shot for a playoff spot.

BURROUGHS 35-18

Crescenta Valley (4-2, 6-3) vs. Arcadia (5-1, 7-2) (Glendale)

Last Year: Arcadia 35-17

Too many weapons for the Apaches who have found a new stride since losing in its opening Pacific League game against Burroughs. Jake Medel is a big reason why most teams in the Southeast Division should fear Arcadia.

Marro Lee has been healthy all season and it has paid dividends for the Falcons who are on the verge of a playoff spot. Problem is that there is a log jam for the final two spots in the Pacific. The right scenario for the Falcons would be a Pasadena win and Burroughs win to get the final playoff spot.

ARCADIA 35-17

SUBURBAN
La Mirada (4-1, 5-4) vs. Norwalk (3-2, 3-6) (Excelsior Adult School) – LA MIRADA 35-14
