1—ESPN fires (7/20/26) longtime NFL analyst Ryan Clark mid-broadcast while Clark was live on NFL Live. Clark joined ESPN in 2015. A UDFA out of LSU, he played 13 seasons in the NFL, eight with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was a starter on their Super Bowl 43 team that beat the Arizona Cardinals.

2—Mookie Betts goes 4-for-5, hits two home runs, and scores three times, but the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Dodgers, last night, 10-7.

3—MLB Trade Deadline is set for August 3 at 3PM PST.

4—Longtime SGV figure and Rosemead Rebel coach Paul Barraza turns 70 today.

5—“(Aaron) Donald would be a nice bonus for the 2026 season.”—Los Angeles Rams beat writer Cameron DaSilva

6—Former NFL TE, Kent Kramer would have turned 82 today. Kramer, who passed away in February of 2024, played at Temple City High School and was a ninth round pick of the San Francisco 49ers out of Minnesota in 1966. He played eight seasons with stops in San Francisco, Philadelphia, Minnesota, and New Orleans. The Rams acquired Kramer from the Saints in 1968, but a knee injury kept him from suiting up for the team and he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings in May of 1969.
