The Lancers continued their undefeated streak as they survived a third-quarter lull to pull away from the Comets, one of the top contenders in the City Section’s Division I, Friday night at Westchester High.
Israel opened things with a 30-yard scoring run for La Salle.
Although the Lancers led 20-9 at halftime, the Comets closed the gap to 20-17 on a touchdown and a safety early in the quarter before Amir Evans scored from 21 yards out to put the game out of reach.
