Lancers Clinch a Share of Almont

(San Gabriel) – Bell Gardens scored twice in the third quarter to break a 12-12 tie and went on to beat San Gabriel 26-19 Friday night to clinch a share of the Almont crown. The Lancers improved to 4-0 in league and should take care of Keppel next week to complete an undefeated league run.

SG scored first taking a 6-0 lead in the opening quarter before the Lancers bounced back to to score twice in the second and forge the halftime tie. They then broke it open in the third.

The Matadors had a shot to tie it at the end of the contest but sophomore linebacker Erik Galicia made a huge stop of a San Gabriel receiver at the goal line as the clock ran out.

The Lancers are 7-2 overall while San Gabriel dropped to 3-6 (2-7 with a forfeit loss).
