Coto was in a difficult position last year. He had to fill the shoes of arguably the most successful quarterback in Arroyo history Steven Rivera. He took his lumps but when all was said in done he did a solid job. He threw for over 1300 yards and led the Knights to the second round of the CIF playoffs where they fell to powerhouse Sierra Canyon. In the first round win over Bell Gardens he completed 11 of 16 for 138 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.
Now in his senior season with a year of experience under his belt Coto will be the key cog in the Arroyo offense.
“I can see so much improvement between last year and this year,” said Arroyo Coach Jim Singiser. “He’s had a good spring.”
