Arroyo 2013 SGV Shootout Champions

(El Monte) – Arroyo beat Diamond Bar 42-24 late Saturday afternoon to win the SGV Shootout. The Knights beat Crescenta Valley 33-27 in the semi finals while Diamond Bar knocked off Monrovia 33-9. It was the second time in the history of the Shootout that Arroyo has won its own tournament.

“It’s a lot of work but its great for the kids. It’s nice to win it,” said Arroyo Coach Jim Singiser.

Arroyo was led by returning senior quarterback Nathan Coto who was on target all day. “He’s really coming around,” said Arroyo assistant Dominic Salmon. “He’s stll learning some of his reads but he ‘s becoming a great leader. He looked great today.”
