Bonita vs. San Dimas at Citrus College
Last Meeting 2012: San Dimas 37 Bonita 36
The Bearcats had this game won a year ago only to let it slip away. This time around Saints look like the favorites. The firestorm of Jake Payton’s transfer from SD to Upland and his recent landing at Bonita only adds to a game that is perennially loaded with drama. Both teams return starting quarterbacks, but the Saints return a near intact offensive line and that should be the difference.

Ontario vs. Northview at Covina District Stadium
Last Meeting 2012: Northview 33 Ontario 0
The Vikings have bad dudes on defense (see Jared Brito), a strong interior line, and figure to have another back in the stable to grind opponents down. The Jaguars were 3-7 a year ago and will have difficulty scoring points. Their bad dude linebacker Anthony Fuentez is worth keeping an eye on, but your money needs to go N-View.

Windward at Hamilton (3:00pm kick-off)
First Meeting
The host Yankees were 3-7 last year, but its the visiting Wildcats that are poised to make noise in 2012. Windward has beasts returning in the trenches and a talented quarterback. We like them on the road.

Hawkins at St. Bernard
First Meeting
For Hawkins its a debut varsity game, for the St. Bernard Vikings its the first time back on the field after a hellish 2012. Following a 2011 season that saw them go 10-1, the Viking program was suspended after a coaching resignation, player transfers, and general chaos. Back on the field and ready to fill the void in the Del Rey…Keep an eye on quarterback Steven Chavez.

Glenn at Magnolia

Pioneer vs. Sunny Hills at Buena Park
Former Maranatha HC Peter Karavedas is now part of the SH coaching staff, but the Titans are a team looking for room. Chuck Willig’s young team in 2012 has more experience and might be ready.
Pioneer 21 Sunny Hills 14

Lawndale at South East
Last Meeting 2012: South East 47 Lawndale 12
The Cardinals lost this game a year ago, and lost all five of their Pioneer League games. South East should roll in this game.
South East 48 Lawndale 7
