St. Bernard’s Kyle Harris turns the corner in Thursday’s rout of Hawkins.
(Playa Del Rey)- St. Bernard returned to action with style Thursday night with a 52-7 thrashing of Hawkins in the season opener for both schools.
***St. Bernard’s Kyle Harris scores three touchdowns. Two on the ground, one by interception.
***Vikings Thomas Kay recovered a fumble and returned it 14-yards for a touchdown.
***St. Bernard’s QB Steven Chavez throws two touchdown passes.
***The Vikings did not play a varsity schedule in 2012.
***This was Hawkins first varsity football game.
***This was St. Bernard’s first varsity win since defeating Bishop Montgomery 49-34 on November 11th, 2011.
***Next Friday, September 6th, the Vikings travel to Cathedral to play the Phantoms.
