On a hot, muggy evening in Diamond Bar, Tyler Brown scored twice to lead the Diamond Bar Brahmas to a resounding 44-10 victory over the visiting Montebello Oilers Friday night to open the 2013 campaign.

*** The Brahmas used the whole package of offense, defense and special teams to produce the one sided win.

*** Enrique Lozano booted a 22-yard field goal late in the first quarter to cut the Diamond Bar lead to 7-3.

*** Brian Lamb took the ensuing kickoff after the Oiler score 93-yards to paydirt.

*** Austin Cox blocked an Eddy Gamboa punt and Kyle Yada scooped up the ball and worked his way into the endzone for the Brahmas third score of the evening.

*** Isaac Mendibles carried the ball 22 times for 133 yards.

*** Brown’s second score of the evening came with 9:53 left in the fourth quarter capping a four play 43-drive to capitalize on great field position after a free kick. Brown finished with 74-yards on eight carries and the two scores.

*** Diamond Bar quarterback Tyler Peterson spread the ball around on the evening connecting with five different receivers and hitting on 13 of 23 passes for 128-yards and one score.

*** Montebello’s lone touchdown came with 34 seconds left to play in the second quarter on a seven yard run by Aaron Hernandez.

*** The Brahmas will be at home again next week with a matchup against Suburban League powerhouse Norwalk.

*** The Oilers will travel southwest to the unfriendly confines of Cal High School to take on the Condors.
