Arroyo held its own against a solid Los Altos team while Paraclete didn’t back down against Serrano. Sierra Canyon was at a loss against tough San Fernando; Monrovia gets started this week. San Dimas was humbled by Bonita in the Smudge while Windward’s win was a little on the ugly side. Highlight of the week? Baldwin Park’s thrashing of El Monte.

1. Monrovia (0-0) – Cats open with Ayala this week.

2. Paraclete- (0-1) – Played a tough Serrano team close.

3. Sierra Canyon (0-1) – Trailblazers can’t stay with San Fernando.

4. Arroyo (0-1) – Yes, the Knights move up with a loss.

5. Northview (1-0) – All systems are go in rout of Ontario.

6. San Dimas (0-1) – Saints only drop two spots after Smudge but jury is still out.

7. Bell Gardens (0-0) – Burbank is a brutal way to start.

8. Windward (1-0) – It wasn’t pretty but Wildcats get the win.

9. Rosemead (0-0) – At least the Panthers don’t have to drive to Irvine this year.

10. Montebello (0-1) – Not exactly the way the Oilers wanted to start.

11. Schurr (0-0) – The Spartans welcome Buena Park this week…or not.

12. South El Monte (0-0) – Eagles should be okay vs. Nogales.

13. San Marino (0-0) – Interesting opener with Duarte.

14. Baldwin Park (1-0) – Braves first win since 2011 is impressive.

15. Gabrielino (1-0) – Took care of business with Mr. Contreras.

16. South Pasadena (0-0) – We’ll know more about Tigers Friday night.

17. Pomona (1-0) – It was Garey but a 54-0 win has to count for something.

18. Covina (0-1) – We’ll give Colts a pass on South Hills; LP this week.

19. Viewpoint (1-1) – Patriots earn a split in Alaska.

20. Temple City (0-1) – Is Simi Valley that good?
