(Cerritos)- The Maranatha Minutemen claimed their first Olympic League crown by defeating the Valley Christian Crusaders 31-28 Friday night at Valley Christian High School.
Minutemen running back Caleb Devine scored two touchdowns in the first half, and three over all as Maranatha built a 31-21 lead. VC rallied but a late interception by Dexter Myers dropped the curtain on the Crusaders.
Maranatha finishes the regular season with an 8-2 record, while Valley Christian will enter the post-season with a 4-6 record, but were 3-1 in Olympic play.
