The Ten

(“The Ten” is not a top ten, but ten items worth being included in The TEN)

1. Cleveland’s Terry Francona and Pittsburgh’s Clint Hurdle are named AL and NL Managers of the Year.

2. Miami Marlins’ pitcher Jose Fernandez wins the NL Rookie of the Year Award. The Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig finishes second.

3. The Houston Texans release safety Ed Reed.

4. “Cresecenta Valley is 8-2 and playoff bound.” – Fred Roggin on “Roggin’s Heroes” Sunday night.

5. The Lakers’ Steve Nash will be out at least two weeks with persistent back pain.

6. Stanford at USC Saturday 5:00 p.m.

9. On this date in 2009 San Dimas wrapped up a 9-1 regular season with a 35-16 win over Baldwin Park. The Saints’ only loss was to Monrovia in Week Three but they went on to avenge that defeat with a 12-7 win over the Wildcats in the Mid-Valley Championship game on December 12 at Citrus College.
