These are the teams that made it to the dance…Although it seems like Crescenta Valley got dressed up only to be stood up on prom night. There absence smarts, but the reality is looking right at us. Legitimate title contenders? Look at the top five. Darkhorses at the back end? La Mirada and Mayfair.
.) Norwalk Lancers (10-0): Nearly fell against Mayfair. Hiccup, or is this team getting tired?
.) La Serna Lancers (8-2): Ruben Rios injury hurts, but the cupboard is hardly bare.
.) Diamond Ranch Panthers (9-1): Is it possible to overlook at team with one loss?
.) Los Altos Conquerors (8-2): This team has a shot to go the distance…they could also get bounced this week.
.) Downey Vikings (6-4): Motivated not just by defending their title, but to shut up the critics.
.) Muir Mustangs (9-1): The only concern here is the Stangs have not played a team with similar physical skills. Question: Can they grind out a clock killing drive when they have to?
.) Dominguez Dons (7-3): Have had a nice year, but they just don’t have enough. A few of those who transferred out would be nice about right now.
.) Paramount Pirates (7-3): All the way, out after this week, and everything in between.
.) Burbank Bulldogs (8-2): Will not be an easy out for anybody…but not physical enough to go the distance.
.) West Covina Bulldogs (5-5): Ciao caro!
.) Mayfair Monsoons (5-5): You want rain? Let it rain! You want rain? Let it rain!!
.) La Mirada Matadores (4-6): Seriously, after everything thing that has happened this season…Moschetti and the fellas have to be relishing this role.
.) Diamond Bar Brahmas (6-4): Figuring out corporate tax law might be an easier assignment than trying to figure out how a player not eligible for the regular season is now eligible for the post-season according to CIF.
.) El Rancho Dons (6-4): No disrespect, but The Ranch is better built for the Mid-Valley Division.
.) Burroughs Indians (6-4): Note to Knoop: Read Option.
.) Santa Fe Chiefs (6-4): Staggering into the playoffs.
