1. Oregon State beats Boise State 38-23 in the Hawaii Bowl.

2. The Dallas Cowboys sign 41 year old Jon Kitna to be their backup quarterback.

3. The Rakuten Eagles have decided to release pitcher Masahiro Tanaka through the posting system allowing for his departure. Tanaka, who went 24-0 last year  with a 1.27 ERA in the Japanese League is drawing interest from the Dodgers, Yankees, Cubs and Red Sox.

4. Tony Romo receives epidural injection and the Cowboys are still hopeful that he can still play Sunday against the Eagles.

5. Kings rookie goaltender Martin Jones tied a record by winning his first eight starts before losing Monday night to the Stars.
