2013 All Mid-Valley Team

Paraclete's Melquise Stovall

Paraclete’s Melquise Stovall

(We’ve said it before. No second team, no third team, and we don’t make someone an MVP to move them up and then slide someone else into their position. Lot of debate. In the end we realize we’ve made a couple of people happy and a whole host of others very angry. Our choices, we stand by them.)

OFFENSE

Quarterback:

Nathan Coto–Arroyo

(Coto and Baldwin Park’s Moran were the initial back and forth. Coto’s post season put him over the top. There was a late push for San Dimas’ Josh Avila but in the end it was unanimous for the Arroyo quarterback.)

Running Backs:

Kurt Scoby–Monrovia

Melquise Stovall—Paraclete

Joseph Mayorga–San Dimas

(Nothing wrong with these three running backs, except its missing a fourth. No one felt good about San Dimas’ Fausto Martinez not making the squad, but there was no place to put him.)

Wide Receivers:

Isaiah Renfro–Sierra Canyon

Nico Lozano–Arroyo

(It was the year of the running back in the Mid-Valley Divison.)

Offensive Line:

Left Tackle: Jared Trujillo–San Dimas

Left Guard: D’errick Chambers–Paraclete

Center: Josh Cano–Monrovia

Right Guard: Mark Rangel–Arroyo

Right Tackle: Mike Zapata–San Dimas

(Slotted where they should be. There are some names (Fidel Castro, Isaiah Clay, Mason Van Kirk) that were pushed out because of space.)

Kicker:

Noah Zgrablich–Sierra Canyon

DEFENSE

Defensive Line:

DE: Chad Hall–Paraclete

DT: Robert Sanchez–Arroyo

DE: Jared Brito–Northview

(We don’t think people talk enough about how good Sanchez is.)

Linebackers:

OLB: Triston Brown–Paraclete

ILB: Jesus Calvillo–Arroyo

ILB: Josiah Erickson–San Dimas

OLB: Darryl Aggers–Pomona

(M-Town’s Logan Craig should be here, this list was not unanimous. The linebackers are slotted as to where they played. Note on Aggers: Dude played everywhere for the Red Devils.)

Defensive Backs:

CB: Desmond Bobo–Pomona

CB: Erick Ware–San Dimas

SS: Noah Doneen–Viewpoint

FS: Daniel Valencia–Northview

(We like our secondary. Doneen has been an MVS favorite for the last two years.)

Punter:

Stephen Cansino–Rosemead

(Surprise, surprise, a big boot at Rosemead.)

Return Specialist:

Marcos Lopez–South El Monte

(Pending star?)

Patrick Perrigue Award (Utility)

Tyler Spitzer–San Marino

(This guy is a stud and you get to see him for another year.)
