I was wrong about last night’s game between Glendora and South Hills. Of course, I also didn’t envision Matt Fink getting injured, Noah Holmes going down as well didn’t help the Tartans cause.

Then again, after watching the Huskies last week and speaking to another scribe; he agreed that South Hills really didn’t have what it took to be a Palomares League champion.

So much for what we writers think. I’m thinking that just writing about the game and not predicting it would make life easier.

Hats off to the Huskies, everyone was writing them off and all they did was believe in each other to get the job done.

I want to thank the Hacienda League for everyone cooperating and doing their job. Charter Oak in two games, looks like the Charger team that was to compete for the top spot all season; which means teams should be put on notice heading into the postseason. West Covina might have offensive issues, but defensively they are strong enough to get through to at least the quarterfinals.

Still not sold on Diamond Ranch or Los Altos. The Panthers had every chance to beat the Bulldogs on Thursday but no knockout punch was thrown. The Conquerors found out that Walnut is exactly what the doctor ordered for its stuttering offense in victory.

Tonight looms big for Bonita and Claremont as both are looking to clinch a spot in Central Division playoffs. The Bearcats defense is impressive and could make life miserable for the Wolfpack if they can contain Duy Tran-sampson. If he finds just a little space Tran-sampson will be off to the races. I still feel that Claremont still is a playoff team if they beat Bonita.

Can’t make heads or tails of the situation at Colony as Josh Thompson is out with an injury at the wrong time. It isn’t like getting hurt is ever a good time. The Titans were rolling into the playoffs and will now be hard pressed to get out of the first round. Especially if they get handed a tough third seed from the Palomares or Hacienda.

Will see what happens comes Sunday. In the meantime, lets have a safe Friday night.
