League play is underway and there were no real surprises. The teams we thought were good are proving to be just that and the teams we thought weren’t so good are well…Arcadia and Northview are couple of teams that are good. The Apaches and Vikes both won their first two league contests. Charter Oak looks good in the Miramonte as does Montebello in the Almont. Temple City’s pitching is the deepest in the Rio Hondo. The Del Rio is wide open.
1. Arcadia (7-0) – Undefeated and undisputed.
2. Northview (5-1) – Vikes picking up where they left off in 2008.
3. Temple City (5-1) – Morgan Hatch is knoking cover of the ball.
4. Monrovia (5-2- Richard Kilbury anchors a sold staff.
5. Charter Oak (5-3) – Whipped D-Ranch twice to open league.
6. Gladstone (7-1) – Nice beginning but schedule hasn’t exactly been a death march.
7. Bonita (4-1)- Bearcats get Chargers next week.
8. Montebello (4-2) Oilers are raising eyebrows. Took care of San Gabriel for starters.
9. Glendora (4-3) – Tartans are good but might not be good enough in Sierra.
10. West Covina (5-3) Bulldogs are okay for now; we’re still not sure about San Antonio.
