Mid Valley High School Boys Basketball Top 20

Not many changes after the first full week of league play. Montebello, South Hills and Bonita are all off and running and Pasadena looks untouchable in the Pacific. BP came back down to earth and Temple City found out there’s more than just La Canada in the Rio. Walnut could be a sleeper in the San Antonio.

1. Montebello (19-1) – Oilers rolling in Almont.

2. South Hills (13-3) – So far so good in San Antonio.

3. Bonita (16-3) – Bearcats took care of CO, Los Altos last week.

4. La Canada (14-3) – Spartans’ long range shooting sinks Monrovia.

5. Keppel (15-3) – Aztecs get Montebello on Tuesday.

6. Pasadena (12-5) – Bulldogs haven’t been challenged in Pacific.

7. Crescenta Valley (13-4) – Falcons only league loss was at Pasadena.

8. Charter Oak (12-5) – Waiting for another shot at Bonita.

9. Walnut (11-6) – Steven David is on the all bruiser team.

10. Northview (12-7) – Survived San Dimas; undefeated in Valle Vista.

11.Nogales (12-7) – Nobles problem is they’re in the brutal San Antonio.

12. San Dimas (9-8) – Saints knocked off Baldwin Park before falling to Northview.

13. Baldwin Park (15-2) – It’s bombs away for Gamboa and Montes.

14. Arcadia (10-8) – Apaches hanging tough in Pacific.

15. Temple City (7-6) – We like Zach Aquino.

16. Burbank (13-5) – B-Bank is good, not great in league.

17. Los Altos (10-9) – Four game winning streak abruptly stopped by Bonita.

18. Whittier (9-9) – Cards win two of first three in Del Rio.

19. California (8-8) – Condors need a win over Whittier this week.
