  1. Sunny Hills racked up 2,182 rushing yards this season (363.7 per game) which was number 1 in CIF SS and number 3 in California.

  3. Kentucky guard Terrance Clarke, 19, was killed in a car accident in Los Angeles. Clarke had declared for the NBA draft in March. 
  4. The Dodgers Cody Bellinger, who has been out of the lineup since April with a hairline fracture in his left leg, is uncertain when he will be able to return. 
  5. Pasadena Boys Basketball, which is 1-1 after a loss to Maranatha last Saturday, will face Brentwood at home this Saturday.  
  6. Chicago Cubs outfielder, former Dodger, Joc Pederson who is hitting just .157, was placed on the 10-day IL with tendinitis in his left wrist.  
  7. The New York Yankees are tied with the Minnesota Twins for the worst record in the American League at 6-11 going into Thursday night’s action. 
  8. On this day in 1989 the Dallas Cowboys selected UCLA quarterback Troy Aikman with the first pick in the NFL draft. 
  9. Also on this day in 1954 Henry Aaron hit the first of his 755 career home runs.

    The Dolphins should be paying Marino a royalty for his effect on merchandise sales, because he is the reason millions of people identify as Miami fans. The man has been retired for a long time, but a Dolphins jacket still counts as part of my winter wear.
