  1. The Chicago Bears hired former Indianapolis Colts DC Matt Eberflus as their new head coach. 
  2. The Denver Broncos hired former Green Bay Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett as their new head coach. 
  3. Boys Basketball: Pasadena at Muir Friday night, 7:00 p.m.  
  4. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger officially retired after 18 seasons. 
  5. Former Rams/ NFL head coach Jeff Fisher was named the head coach of the Michigan Panthers of the USFL. 
  6. The Lakers lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 105-87 Thursday night to fall to 24-25 on the season. 
  7. AP College Basketball Top 5: 1. Auburn 2. Gonzaga 3. Arizona 4. Baylor 5. Kansas. 
  8. Iledza Rodriguez scored eight goals and had two assists in Ganesha’s 16-0 win over Edgewood Thursday.  
  9. Freshman Marquis Bradley scored 26 points to lead Charter Oak to a 57-52 win over Covina Wednesday night.
  10. On this day in 1990 the San Francisco 49ers beat the Denver Broncos 55-10 in Super Bowl XXIV in the Superdome in Louisiana. 49ers quarterback Joe Montana was named MVP.

    When Joe Montana’s son was learning the QB position, he refused tutoring from his father, so the former Superbowl MVP had to hire a QB coach to bring the kid up to speed. I wonder what THAT guy had on his resume!
