San Gabriel’s Gomez Commits to Whittier College

(San Gabriel) – San Gabriel linebacker/ tight end Edwin Gomez has committed to Whittier College where he will continue his football career in the fall he confirmed Tuesday.

Last year Gomez helped San Gabriel to an overall record of 9-3 (3-2 in the Almont League) and into the second round of the CIF Division 13 playoffs.

    @ Anonymous & Question Mark: The Poets can’t do much worse than they already have during the last several decades. Perhaps they can establish an upward trend, but it will take a lot of dedication, hard work, recruiting, and good coaching.

    Here’s another one to amaze you RV. In the decade of the 1950’s the Poets had as head coaches back to back Hall of Fame NFL head coaches. First was George Allen then followed by Don Coryell of Air Coryell fame.. Needless to say they won titles every year in the 50’s. So go get ’em Mr. Gomez

    Whomever can turn the Whittier College Football program around should get a golden ticket to the NFL. They have averaged 2 wins a season since 1990.

    Whittier is not very good. I can hope they hire a new coach and turn that program around.
