(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”)

- Juan Soto of the Washington Nationals won the Home Run Derby Monday night.
- “Yup, that’s a $500 million swing.” – ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Twitter on Juan Soto.
- La Serna at Pasadena, Friday night August 19.
- Rams defensive lineman Bobby Brown has been suspended six games for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances.
- Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts wore a shirt saying “We need more black people at the Stadium” ahead of the MLB All-Star Game.
- On this date in 1976 Hank Aaron hit the 755th and last home run of his career off of the California Angels’ Dick Drago.
- This was the first MLB All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium since 1980.
- “It took me 17 years to get three thousand hits in baseball. I did it in one afternoon on the golf course.” – Hank Aaron.
SV got a couple of key transfer as well as more local boys showed up for the program. Enthusiasm for a new well respected coach goes along way.
Just curious, did Sierra vista get an influx of kids, any legit transfers? I saw them twice last year and they looked pretty terrible, a coach can improve a team, but unless he’s got a penny or booth not really sure how much better they can be.
Teams flying under the radar: West Covina, Sierra Vista, Bonita, Covina, South Hills,California.
Hank is saying he sucked at golf !!
I know the feeling
That’s why GOLF, of all things, is more exciting than baseball. I’d rather watch Hank Aaron hit a golf ball 3000 times in one afternoon than wait 17 years for it to happen at the ball park.
