  1. The Chargers beat the Denver Broncos 19-16 in overtime on Monday Night Football. 
  2. Chargers’ kicker Dustin Hopkins, who kicked four field goals including the game winner in overtime Monday night, will be out two to four weeks with a hamstring injury. 
  3. The New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Guardians 5-1 Tuesday in Game 5 to advance to the ALCS. 
  4. ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros, Game 1 Wednesday night. 
  5. The Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Diego Padres 2-0 Tuesday night in Game 1 of the NLCS. 
  6. Rams left tackle Joe Noteboom tore an Achilles tendon in Sunday’s 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers and is out for the year. 
  7. The LA Galaxy will face LAFC Thursday in the Western Conference semifinals at Banc of California Stadium. 
  8. The Golden State Warriors beat the Lakers 123-109 Tuesday night to open the 2022-’23 NBA season.
